Seven reasons for a durable chain cable

We developed the flexible chainflex cables in 1990 to last and not to fail after just a few strokes. In doing so, we recognized that cables used in motion have special mechanical design requirements. That is why we developed the chainflex- seven reasons, which we use in as many chainflex cables as possible. Each of these seven reasons describes a mechanical feature that makes the cable durable in moving applications.

First reason: High tensile strength centre element

High tensile strength centre element
  •  Filling the cavity in the centre
  •  Absorbing forces in the cable during movement

Second reason: Copper strands

Copper strands
  • Constant electric current conduction
  • Perfect combination of individual wire diameter, number of wires, and optimum pitch length

Third reason: Core insulation

Core insulation
  • Cores permanently insulated from each other
  • Particularly abrasion-resistant material - PVC, TPE, and XLPE

Fourth reason: Cores wound in bundles

Bundling
  • Extremely short pitches in the winding
  • Cores wound in bundles starting at 12 cores to optimally compensate for push/pull forces

Fifth reason: Inner jacket

Bundling
  • Gusset-filling extrusion
  • Stranded structure guided in the longitudinal direction
  • Shielding fundamentals

Sixth reason: Shielding

Shielding
  • High EMC protection
  • Extremely high coverage
  • Flat braid angle ensures shield wire mobility

Seventh reason: Outer jacket

Outer jacket
  • Protection from environmental influences such as oil, UV radiation, and dirt
  • Highly abrasion-resistant materials for permanently good energy chain properties - PVC, PUR, and TPE
