Automated quality control with a robot

You can implement many different applications with robots. In addition to classic pick & place or palletising tasks, quality control can also be efficiently automated. The advantages of robot systems in quality assurance are their precision and reliable quality: all processes can be repeated exactly. Testing processes can vary greatly by product and industry. We would be happy to advise you on which type of robot is suitable for your process. igus robots are based on a modular system and can therefore be flexibly adapted to your application. We would be happy to advise you on which type of robot is most suitable for your process.

Quality control in the watch industry

In its automated quality control, the application checks a.o. whether the clocks reach the minimum running time. For this a room linear robot from igus and a camera are used. This allows the application to approach the clocks individually and check by camera image.
  • Lubrication-free to avoid contamination
  • Flexible by adjusting the size of the linear robot
  • Any end effectors can be used
  • Cost-effective testing processes through Low Cost Automation solutions
To the application example

Quality control in the electronics industry

The inspection system at the end of the production line was assembled using conventional means. An efficient solution for testing power supplies was needed. This entire test cycle is now taken over by the robot. The operator can pursue other activities during this time. The robot transmits objective measurement results, which improves the quality of the inspection.
  • Constant measurement results
  • Precise monitoring of the components
  • Reduction of manual operating effort
  • Cost-effective integration and rapid amortisation
To the application example

Quality control in knife production

In order to measure the resistance when cutting with professional kitchen knives, a measuring device was constructed with which it is possible to make a constant cut through a reference paper. The resistance then indicates the condition of the blade and whether the blade still needs to be reworked at any one point.
  • The smallest deviations can be detected
  • Comparable measurements
  • Manual measurement differences impossible
  • Fast amortisation through cost-effective robots
